Termites Treatment

Termites are those pesky pests that eat almost about anything: damp wood, dry wood, soil, grass, animal manure, and others. Undetected and untreated termite infestations can cause a lot of damage which is pretty expensive, too. They can slowly eat out a part of your house without you knowing it. Therefore, it is best to know the different termite signs like: sawdust, wings, hollow wood, and shelter tunnels. Once you know that you have a termite infestation, treatment must commence at once. Do not disturb the termites because they can just go deeper into the wood or soil and killing all of them will be a problem.

The different termite treatments used are:

Liquid termiticides is the oldest methods of termite treatment. The liquid pesticides act by creating a chemical barrier so that termites won’t get into your house. Several gallons of these termiticides are sprayed onto the ground around your house. Use of termiticides is a common choice among homeowners because it is cheap and immediate results can be seen. The disadvantage is that many chemicals are no longer recommended because of the tendency to seep into water supplies and are environmentally unsafe.

Bait termite treatment aims to kill the entire colony of termites. Initially, plastic stakes containing wood are placed into the ground around your house. These are used to monitor the termite infestation. The pest control service will regularly check if a termite gets into the stake. If there are signs of termites, the wood will be replaced with pesticides. Termites who come into contact with the pesticide will bring this back to the entire colony. It may take a while before the pesticide kills the termites. Compared to liquid termite treatment, termites treatment using bait is a little more expensive and can also take longer to see results.

Choose between any of these methods for your termite treatment. Both ways are effective in killing those pesky pests!
